October Negotiations Close Scoring Two New Tentative Agreements
 
This months negotiation session just completed Thursday, Oct 21.  The talks between your Negotiating Team (NT) and Management were positive and rigorous with both sides discussing their positions, rewriting proposals, and submitting them again. All told, the Discipline, Discharge and Grievance article with all its discussions, changes, and considerations made nearly 14 trips across the table before reaching an agreement.
 

“We’ve been working on this for months”, said Marilou Recendes, our NT Team member from PIE, “This article is very important as it works with the System Board of Adjustment article which was signed last session.”   These key articles in tandem ensure that our Membership has a grievance system in place to protect our work group with regard to discipline and terminations.
 

The Preamble was also signed which brings the Articles TAd by your Union and Company to a total of 8.  We are nearly a quarter of the way to our first contract.
 

Your NT and Management will be back at the bargaining table from November 29 through December 1, 2011 and at these meetings committed to dates through March 2012.
