CONTRACT ARTICLE BULLET POINTS
The following text are key articles your 577 Negotiating Team (NT) have written and presented to the company. Red check-marks denote Tentative Agreements (TA) signed by your NT & the Company.
Please remember, anything not signed is not agreed upon and is up for discussion and negotiation at the bargaining table. Once all the articles have been TAd, your NT will bring it to Membership for a vote and ratify.
We will update this page each time a new TA is signed.
The list of Articles are not complete and are in no particular order.
Non-Discrimination
* Prohibits discrimination against Flight Attendants based on race, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, age, military or veteran status, or Union activity.
Probation
* Outlines Probationary period and rights for probationary flight attendants.
System Board of Adjustment
* Sets up a board to resolve Flight Attendant disputes or grievances between Flight Attendants and the Company that are not worked out informally.
* Provides for issues that are not resolved at a lower level to be decided by final and binding arbitration before a panel headed by a neutral arbitrator.
Medical Examinations
* Guarantees Flight Attendant’s right to receive, challenge and resolve issues that result from Company-required medical examination in a timely, confidential process.
Health and Safety
* Gives Flight Attendants stronger voice in determining when temperature on board reaches unsafe, unhealthy levels.
* Addresses cabin air quality and noise levels and allows earplugs to be worn during takeoff and landing.
Uniforms
* Codifies Company payment of uniforms, dry-cleaning and replacement allowance and maternity uniforms.
* Requires consideration of Union ‘s recommendation on uniform flammability standards as well as style and material.

Discipline, Discharge and Grievance Procedures
* Requires the Company before anyone is disciplined or discharged, to provide written notice of the alleged reasons.
* Allows a Flight Attendant to file a grievance to contest unjust discipline or discharge.
* Establishes a procedure that allows our Union and the Company to resolve issues informally.
Preamble
* Defines Allegiant and your Union, TWU 577, as the parties that are entering into the Agreement

Recognition
* Recognizes our Union, TWU 577, as the exclusive bargaining agent for Allegiant Flight Attendants as required by law.

Reduction in Force
* Provides for furlough and rehire in the event the Company is forced temporarily to eliminate Flight Attendant positions.

Part-Time Flight Attendant Rules
* Establishes status and rights of those who work part-time.

Seniority
* Respects the length of service a Flight Attendant has with Allegiant.
* Clarifies how seniority will be determined.

General—Union Information
* Makes available the means for our Union and the Flight Attendants to communicate openly.

Savings Clause
* Should any part of Agreement be rendered invalid, balance of Agreement will remain in full force and effect.

Filling of Vacancies
* Sets proceedure and system for filling vacancies of existing and the creation of new flight attendant bases.
Leave of Absence
* Recognizes the needs of the Flight Attendant, and establishes the application process and limitations of a leave of absence due to medical, personal, maternity, family or military leave.
On the Job Injury
* Addresses benefits, limitations, and compensation for On-the-Job Injuries.
Scheduling and Bidding
* Establishes a system-wide Union scheduling committee.
* Details processes for bid lines, bidding and awards, reserves, open time, trip trades and drops.

Duty Period Limitations
* Ensures caps on hours on duty and minimum rest periods, even during irregular operations.
Additional Flying
* Provides premium pay when Flight Attendant’s are stranded or rescheduled due to irregular operations.
* Lets a Flight Attendant choose higher pay or days off when Junior Assigned

* Requires rescheduling and Junior Assigned to be based on seniority

* Sets requirements for the Company to place open flying into Open Time and rules for paying Flight Attendants who are willing to work by sitting reserve on days off.
Commuter Policy
* Makes explicit the expectations of the Company and Flight Attendants who commute.
Expenses
* Requires the Company to cover certain work-related costs, including transportation and hotel when needed.
Vacations
* Describes the computation, compensation and accrual of vacation based on longevity.
* Sets up bidding, awarding and duty limitations during award month.
Attendance Policy
* Changes current accrual of points.
* Allows Flight Attendant to use a doctor’s note or personal note so as not to accrue points once per quarter.
Sick Leave
* Sets up accrual and limitations of Sick Leave for all Flight Attendants.
Insurance
* Requires the Company to continue to provide life, long-term disability and comprehensive health insurance, including medical, prescription, dental and vision.
Compensation
* Seeks pay increases and new steps for more senior Flight Attendants.
* Adds Duty Rigs, i.e. increased pay for extended duty days.
* Specifies premium pay for working or sitting reserve on specified holidays.
* Proposes Bonus Pay for high monthly hours flown.
Retirement Benefits
* Continues the 401 (k) Retirement Plan provided by the Company, and describes the Flight Attendant eligibility.
* Sets up a retirement Pension Plan and flight benefits for all Flight Attendants eligible.
Scope of Agreement
* Describes Flight Attendants' rights and protections in the event Allegiant is involved in a merger, purchase or acquisition.
