A Face in the Crowd: Katie Fowle

“Unity to me means supporting our fellow flight attendants and working together to move forward into something that will benefit all of us, across base lines.”
-Katie Fowle

For our new “Face in the Crowd”, we turn our attention to the majestic Pacific Northwest, specifically, Bellingham, WA.  Born in Seattle, Katie Fowle moved to Bellingham fifteen years ago with her family.  Her mother owned a small retail shop where Katie worked her way through college earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Katie and her longtime boyfriend Matt now own a house in the small neighboring town of Ferndale with their two mischievous but lovable dogs Cooper and Lucy. When they aren’t busy working on their house, or keeping the dogs busy and out of trouble, Katie and Matt spend their free time enjoying the great outdoors, camping and boating around the beautiful state of Washington.

Katie joined the Allegiant family fresh out of college and has been an amazing asset to our team - especially in regard to fulfilling her latest role as the union negotiation representative for BLI.  After three and a half years of employment and being one of the founding members of the Bellingham base, Katie has a terrific understanding of our company including both its strengths and weaknesses. “The biggest challenge I used to see was our constant shortage of flight attendants; this is has recently changed because we hired so many people in anticipation of the 166-seat project coming to Bellingham first.  As we have not yet seen the new aircraft, nor have we been told when we should expect them, I think the new challenges are going to be in relation to the fact that our base just doubled in size in a very short time. We have lots of new faces and potentially lots of changes coming in the way that we fly, i.e. 166-seats, 757's, etc.”

Katie maintains a positive outlook for the future of our company pointing out that the diversity of character among our team members gives us a pool of individual strengths to pull from creating a stronger and more effective team every day. “I think our company is really fueled by the amazing people that we have working for us and all the different strengths and skills that we collectively have. We come from such a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences that we are able to work together as a complete team.”

Thank you Katie, for your continued efforts and for helping to strengthen our feeling of unity and familiarity by no longer allowing yourself to be just a “Face in the Crowd”.
